Frequently Asked Questions
How much do Pro Tutoring classes cost?
For price-based questions, families should visit the Pricing page, which explains the cost of Pro Tutoring’s different class options. If you still have questions, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
Does Pro Tutoring offer in-person classes?
No. Pro Tutoring is an entirely online organization that teaches through Google Meet and Zoom. Online lessons allow students to learn from home, avoid travel, and receive flexible support without being limited by location.
Do you offer a free trial lesson?
Yes. Pro Tutoring offers a free trial lesson for families who are considering becoming part of Pro Tutoring and want to see whether online classes are the right fit.
How long are Pro Tutoring classes?
Most lessons are one hour long. If a student needs a shorter or longer lesson, that can be arranged in advance with the tutor, and the lesson price will be adjusted accordingly.
How do I schedule Pro Tutoring lessons?
After you contact Pro Tutoring, we assign a tutor based on your student’s goals and needs. From there, families schedule lessons directly with their tutor based on mutual availability.
How often should my student attend tutoring?
The best schedule depends on the student’s current level, goals, and type of support needed. Pro Tutoring can recommend a lesson schedule after learning more about the student’s needs.
What kind of training do Pro Tutoring instructors have?
Pro Tutoring instructors are experienced, trained educators who have tutored for many years. Each hired instructor completes professional tutoring training and is college educated or in the process of becoming college educated.
What makes Pro Tutoring work?
Pro Tutoring works because lessons are individualized around each student’s learning style, goals, and needs. The team focuses on effective instruction, availability, and helping each student achieve their goals.
How will I know if Pro Tutoring classes are helping?
Pro Tutoring provides parent check-ins as often as you’d like, so families always know how their student is progressing. If a student’s effort or grades decrease, Pro Tutoring will contact the family to create a plan for improvement.
Does Pro Tutoring offer private or group classes?
Most Pro Tutoring classes are private so instruction can focus on the student’s specific goals. Group classes are available for standardized test preparation, with small groups that still allow instructors to identify and address student weaknesses.
If my student is struggling on a day without a scheduled class, can you help?
Yes. If a student is confused outside of a scheduled lesson, families can call or text Pro Tutoring. If the issue can be handled in under 30 minutes without a Zoom or Google Meet session, the help is free.
If I don’t like my assigned instructor, can I switch tutors?
Yes! If a tutor is not meeting your needs, contact Pro Tutoring to explain the concern. Pro Tutoring will first work with the instructor to make changes, and if there is no improvement, a different tutor will be assigned.
Can Pro Tutoring help my child enjoy school more?
Pro Tutoring works to make lessons engaging and help students enjoy learning. While we cannot promise that students will love every school class, we do everything possible to show students that learning and studying can be enjoyable.
What if my student needs help with a subject that is not on the website?
Pro Tutoring cannot guarantee assistance with every subject not listed, but families are encouraged to contact us with their request. We will work to find or train an instructor who can help meet the student’s needs.
Does Pro Tutoring help adults or college students?
Yes. While Pro Tutoring mainly works with K–12 students, we also help adult clients and college students with certain academic goals.
Can Pro Tutoring teach students with disabilities, such as autism?
Pro Tutoring is not certified in specialized instruction, but we have worked with students of different levels and abilities. If a student requires a specialist, we recommend contacting an organization that focuses specifically on learning disabilities.
Does Pro Tutoring only help with school, or can students get ahead or learn over the summer?
Pro Tutoring offers summer programs and advanced tutoring classes to help students stay sharp, continue learning, or prepare for future school material. Families can contact Pro Tutoring with their goals to receive a recommended plan.
